Reflection on Year 1 Trimester 1 (Term 1)
My first experience with trimester system caught me off guard, with the packed schedule in placed, we are expected to juggle studies, projects and for some, clubs as well.
Overall, for my first ever term in SIT, I did relatively average for my mid term quiz. However, I felt that due to time constraints and other commitments, I did better than expected so with regards to my result, I was quite proud of it. I also managed to get into the executive committee of the Institute of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE) as well as the Institute of Engineers Singapore (IES). To be honest, I applied for these is because I wanted to try out a leadership role in a school setting, secondly, I hope that these will be able to help me in my Integrated Work Study Programme (IWSP) which will take place from Year 2 Trimester 3 to Year 3 Trimester 1.
My goal for this upcoming term is to put in as much effort as I did, or even more. The other commitment that I mentioned in the previous paragraph is actually reading, I started picking up reading while I was in my National Service. I hope to be able to do so despite the tight schedule as I do not wish this new habit of mine to be kicked due to external reasons.
In all, I am grateful to be able to learning new stuff in school, partly because this is my last phase of school life. Another reason is that I started to enjoy the process of learning, instead of studying for grades as this gave me the motivation I need to continue putting in effort in learning.
